Every Week is a Week without Driving
#WeekWithoutDriving
RantWoman understands that really the point of the #WeekWithoutDriving campaign is to get people who drive almost everywhere all the time to consider the perspective of people who, well, don't.
RantWoman has been officially not driving since 2004 when she flunked the drivers' license eye test in both eyes instead of only one. The examiner said "We're sorry. We have to suspend your license." RantWoman had not liked driving all that much in the first place. RantWoman historically did not do a lot of it and was perfectly fine not pretending everything was all better a year later when the immediate medical issue had been addressed as well as possible but short of a level where RantWoman felt any need to push her own limits.
With that in mind, this year RantWoman is going to offer tips about gear: hi vis elements, shoes, bags, layers in Seattle variable weather, and assorted transportation misses. Maybe white canes too because two different incarnations of Ambassador Thwack have gone AWOL in about the last month and RantWoman is going to have to take measures. Maybe transit tips. Maybe a #JourneyMap or two from great days on the mean streets of Seattle.
Stay tuned!
