All the ways people stress their hearts in the morning.
Evidence based on multiple peer-reviewed studies and meta analyses
RantWoman for her part:
ALWAYS drinks water before anything else, even sometimes the restroom
Keeps her phone in the other room and turns on the radio for at least a few minutes before looking at her phone. Lately RantWoman has been listening to a few seconds and sometimes immediately turning the radio off because she is not ready to deal with the story immediately.
RantWoman does not head out on walks but does slowly ease into VERY low impact stretches, upper body repetitions, and easy step and balance exercises.
RantWoman is aware of some do not ignore points she needs to discuss with a doctor. Stay tuned.
The suggested routine.
1. Breathe in 4 seconds, out 4 second, 4 times
2. Drink 250 ml of room temperature water
3. Activate calf muscles; sit on bed. Feet on floor. Raise and lower heels. Rotate ankles each way. (RantWoman basically does this but later in the day.)
4. Gentle neck and shoulder mobilization (RantWoman already does this a little later in her morning.)
5. 3-4 minutes radio and phone free. (As mentioned RantWoman does not do this but does often start by clearing lightweight stuff and ads.)
Now Stand slowly. If dizzy, sit back down and wait a full minute.
(Cue digression about sit to stand exercises which RantWoman is working on increasing the count she can do at once. Usually in the morning though need to pee sets the choice about sleep more or wake up, throw on a robe, and use restroom.)
